Daniel D. Rodarte
Attorney & Counselor at Law
Born and raised in the greater Los Angeles area, Dan graduated from the University of California Santa Cruz with a double major in Economics and Politics in 1976. Dan then commenced his legal education at Harvard University School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree in 1979. While at Harvard, Dan excelled in the Trial Advocacy Program, assisted low income residents with various litigation matters, and worked with the Legal Division of the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare and with a prominent Boston law firm. “I gave serious consideration to remaining on the East Coast, but three years of New England winters convinced me to return home to sunny California,” Dan reports.
After practicing for many years with prominent national law firms, Dan opened his own law practice in 1995 as the founding member of a small litigation boutique. In 2005, Dan merged his practice with a Santa Monica firm (Shapiro, Rodarte & Forman) and expanded his practice to include estate planning and probate matters.
Mr. Rodarte is admitted to practice in all of the California state courts as well as the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Ninth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California. Mr. Rodarte is a member of the Trusts & Estates Section of the State Bar of California. Mr. Rodarte has participated as a grader for state bar examinations on behalf of the Committee of Bar Examiners for the California Bar Association, served as a volunteer Judge Pro Tem and as a volunteer arbitrator with the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
